In the year 2002, our centre
had 167 ongoing / delivered IVF and ICSI
babies out of a total of 484 cycles giving
a 34.5 % take home baby rate for major ART
procedures. There were countless other IUI
and related therapy pregnancies. Since then, in the year 2008 we achieved 544 pregnancies from IVF & ICSI with 166 twin pregnancies with a take home baby rate of 38% per cycle, among the highest in the country.
The team is constantly
undated with the latest developments in
the world. and tries its best to keep abreast with all the recent advances in the field by attending several international meets such as the ESHRE (European IVF meet) and ASRM (American fertility meet). On the horizon are incorporation of IMSI and Vitrification of oocytes, zygotes, embryos and blastocysts for enhancing cumulative pregnancy rates with fresh and frozen embryo transfers. Also, we plan to move towards single or double embryo transfer
(SET and DET) to reduce the high multiple pregnancy rates. There have been several other modifications to treatment such as reduction in the number of injections (30 injections) as against the conventional long protocol with more than 50 injections.
Also, we have a large and comprehensive program for third party options such as oocyte (egg) donation, embryo donation and surrogacy for patients who require these technologies. Egg donors and surrogate mothers are screened by our own team, carefully recruited and matched as per the patients requirements to ensure smooth conduct of the procedures.
